Retailers have already made their plans for 2011, with all the unrest of the last 2 years and a number of high profile retailers closing down in 2010 there is some optimism that the worst is over and that empty units will slowly be filled in 2011 with a variety of retailers set for expansion. With the UK being favorable to foreign investment due to the weakness of the pound then we could see a number of new entrances to the UK retail market place.
‘The Entertainer’ has plans for over 10 new stores and will be recruiting for Store Manager, Assistant Manager and Supervisors in these locations.
‘The Original Factory Shop’ are continuing their expansion with a further 35 stores planned and will be recruiting for Store Managers and Assistant Managers for these stores.
Asda will be creating 7,500 retail jobs and the positions will be made available through a combination of new store openings, the expansion of the business’s home shopping department and the conversion of recently acquired Netto stores. Jobs up for grabs include store managers, assistant managers, department managers with a focus on pharmacists, as well as traditional shop floor sales assistant, customer service roles.
Bookmaker Paddy Power has announced 810 additional posts will be created in the UK as the gaming firm steps up the growth of its retail estate in 2011.
