The footwear retailer Brantano and The Original Factory Shop – One of the UK’s largest independent retailers with over 170 stores, have come together to share ideas and experiences to help shape and streamline their future recruitment processes. Between them, they have plans to open over 60 stores in 2012 so having the right recruitment strategy and processes in place is a key part of ensuring store success.
During the initial meeting, facilitated at our Head Office in St Helens, both retailers stated that their primary goals for the meeting was to benchmark their recruitment processes against each other to identify any inconsistencies and areas for improvement. However, the meeting was such a success; both retailers were able to take away improvements not just for recruitment, but for their HR processes as well.
Jenny Seal, Recruitment Co-Ordinator for The Original Factory Shop said “A big thank you goes to Nigel at 360 Resourcing Solutions for setting up the meeting and keeping it flowing smoothly. I can’t imagine many recruitment partners would do that so we are very grateful for you taking the time to arrange the day for us.”
If it is one thing other retailers can learn from this example, its that during these tough economic times, if mutually beneficial partnerships are formed, improvements to working practices and potential cost-savings can be identified and implemented giving them a competitive advantage over their rivals, at a fraction of the cost.
